Many people ask and wonder if taking a multivitamin is worth their time and money.
Questions like, “do you just pee them out?” or “are they even doing anything?” are rational and valid questions.
As with many things in the health and wellness world, there is nuance to the answer.
Vitamins, especially multivitamins, come in many forms and qualities.
Multivitamins are NOT worthless.
Research (and I would argue common sense) would confirm this.
Here’s just one piece of research showing how people using multivitamins have better cognitive outcomes compared to those that don’t:

Another research article shows how nutrients found in many multivitamins enhance immunity and our body’s ability to handle viral infections:

This makes sense, as every cell in our body REQUIRES these nutrients to carry out functions. Deficiencies in them will result in dysfunctional cells. Dysfunctional cells result in a multitude of physical impairments, sickness, and ultimately an increase in susceptibility to all diseases.
However, it is important to get a form that has nutrients in forms that the body can absorb and utilize properly and has minimal additives.
Also, it’s always best to start foundationally with a nutrient-dense diet. Here’s mine.
For me, I include 2-3 foundational supplements to ensure my body has the tools to function optimally, both now and into the future.
While there are many good brands out there (and a lot of bad ones), a good and easy place to start would be Essential Multi from NutriDyn. They also have a vast catalog of other supplements.
